A loan helped to rehabilitate the irrigation network for her thyme farm.


Jihan's story

Jihan is a 44-year-old mother of 5 children living in Tulkarem area.

She took a loan from ACAD to rehabilitate the irrigation network for her thyme farm by buying new pipes, a pump, and a water tank. The new irrigation system will increase the efficiency and allow her to expand her production.

Jihan starting her thyme farm by investing in a bee hive project, then she decided to start this thyme farm, and now she collects the thyme, dries it, and sells it to the local market.

Her future goals are to develop her project and to plant another piece of land with peach trees. Jihan sees the lack of labor and the difficulties in marketing in winter as her main challenges, as well as wild pigs that destroy the plants.
