A loan helped to buy agricultural inputs.

Iris's story

Iris, 26, is a strong young woman with a spirit of trust and self-improvement. She and her live-in partner formed a family of three children. The two oldest attend schools in different grades; when they're done with their school activities they help their parents in the fields.

She learned to work the land from a very young age because agriculture, especially growing coffee, is a tradition in her family; it was a job for her parents and is now for her own family. Her crops are located about 10 meters from her house, so it's easy for her to take care of and maintain them. As with everything in life she has challenges, such as falling prices, natural disasters, and the lack of maintenance because products are expensive and out of her reach.

This is why she's currently requesting a loan from the COMIXMUL cooperative to be able to buy the inputs she needs for her coffee crops, to take care of everything so she can have an excellent harvest.

Her goal is to be able to take care of her crops, because otherwise she can lose her entire harvest as well as the time and money invested in it. Her dream is to be able to support her children in their studies and their lives, and to see them grow and become people of substance.
