Danaya I Group's story

The ten members of the group "DANAYA I" are married women averaging 45 years of age and four children each. They live for the most part in polygamous families in Diassela, a village in Commune de Benkadi, in Région de Koulikoro (2nd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). The women are collaborating with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso to carry out their work at the start of the rainy season. The crops grown include peanuts, millet and beans. The women are on their third collaboration with the institution.

With this loan, KADIATOU, who is sitting in the middle of her row, intends to purchase farm inputs and sundry equipment and to pay for plowing for maintaining about 2 hectares of millet and peanuts.

After the harvest, the produce is sold in Beleco City to a customer base composed of men and women. She plans on making an average profit of about 50,000 francs CFA per planting.

In this group: Kadiatou, Karia Yaya, Nana, Korotoumou Lamine, Kadiatou, Selimatou, Noumou, Baoumou, Korotoumou, Kadia
