Luis, 55, is married and lives in Sololá. He has seven children, five men who work with him and two women who do domestic chores. He's a friendly and hardworking man.
He earns a living making traditional garments worn by indigenous women in his region. He and his children help each other to do this job, using for their main tool a loom where they place the thread to make these garments. He started this job 24 years ago. He realized that there were few people who made this type of garment, which gets a good price in the market, so he started to make good profits and improve his family finances.
He's requesting a loan for 6,500 quetzales [GTQ] to buy wool thread to make a large quantity of garments and have better profits.
His dream is to have a plot of land because he wants to build his children a home and give them the support they need in their academic studies.
