A loan helped a member to pay for weeding fees and transplanting fees.

Sreyven's Group's story

Sreyven is 32 and a citizen from Dambae district of Kampong Cham province. She has one child to care for. To earn a living, she grows cassava on a two hectare area and does rice cropping on a half hectare area. Her eight years of experience in her current business has returned about 20,000 KHR (Cambodian riel) per day. From this income, she is able to save up to 5,000 KHR per day after deducting necessary expenses.
This is not the first loan for Sreyven with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She has paid back her past loan on time and wisely to support her business. In a group of four, she is the group leader. She and her joint members are seeking for 2,000,000 KHR each. As the group leader, she will use her loan portion to pay for weeding fees and a transplanting fee. She hopes that she can grow her cassava fruitfully and gain a triple yield.
