A loan helped to repair the taxi and invest in the vegetable store business.

Sok's story

Sok S., 33, is a mother of two children who are students. She lives in Kampong Cham province in Cambodia and she works in a vegetable store in a busy market, typically earning around $5 each day. Her husband, Ben Saroeun, makes approximately $10 every day from his taxi business. To help her and her husband's businesses, Mrs. Sok would like to apply for a loan of $1,000. She would like to purchase more vegetables for her store as well as provide her husband with the funds necessary to repair his car. She sees this loan as a way to increase their cumulative income and is confident that their business ventures can be successful with this help. The couple is pictured above.
