Fabián de Jesús, 60 years old, says that his work is a blessing and that even though his earnings do not permit luxuries, his happiness is complete because he has a large family permanently united by love.
He worked as a farm laborer much of his life, and through circumstances beyond his control he saw the need to become established in the city where he worked in construction. As jobs diminished in this area, Fabián decided to work on his own, so he began selling ice cream and popsicles as a street vendor, in order to earn the necessary income to provide for his wife and three minor children.
His big dream is to be able to have his own facility, because due to a public ordinance that affects the city, sometimes he is not permitted to go to many of the sectors where he sells his products.
Currently he is requesting a loan to invest in the purchase of a freezer to store his merchandise, because the refrigerator that he has does not have the required storage capacity.
He hopes that through this investment that his financial situation will improve and he can offer his children access to higher education.
