Living in a wooden house with her family members in a rural village of the Srey Snom district, La is aged 30 years and married with two children, both of whom are dependent on her and still in school. She and her husband earn a living through farming rice on 4 hectares of farmland. Having been in this business for several years, La manages to earn about 10,000 KHR (Cambodian riels) per day and can save about 5,000 KHR each day for future needs.
La has been with VisionFund for four loan cycles. She successfully paid back the past loans. Now she is now leading her group of four to request a loan. As the leader, La will use her portion to buy fertilizer for her farmland. She hopes to get a high yield from her rice paddy so as to sell it for a good price to better her living conditions.
