This communal bank was started by one of the members, whose motivation was helping her friends and neighbors. The group comprises 13 members, all of whom have a trade or business that, small as it may be, keeps them working in accordance with a poverty reduction program. Their progress is measured by 50 poverty indicators, and the program shows them ways to increase their income and improve their standard of living through hard work and sacrifice.
Addia is one example; she sells prepared foods. Thanks to her efforts, training, and a counselor's oversight, she is helping her family. She and the other members have come far and have grown their businesses. Addida is applying for a loan to buy flour, eggs, meat, oil, vegetables, and other supplies to prepare the food she sells.
