A loan helped to purchase a traditional, Mongolian ger (portable felt dwelling).

Ariunbold's story

Ariunbold, 30 years old, lives with his wife and two children in Dornod, an eastern province of Mongolia. Recently, he has begun working as a security guard.

Before this job, he was a herdsman who cared for various domestic animals, such as sheep, goats, and cows in rural areas. His wife has worked in the local television industry and recently has taken her maternity leave.

When the family moved to the center of the province from the rural area, he began to reside in a barn attached to a grocery store. The owner of the barn and grocery store is his casual acquaintance who let them take shelter in his barn. As he began to interact with the owner of grocery store, he began to earn his trust and, as a result, his wife is employed as a saleswoman in the grocery store. Also, the family doesn’t pay a rent fee.

Now, Ariunbold is preparing documents for buying a rightful plot of land from the local authority. He is requesting a loan of MNT 2,000,000 to purchase a traditional, Mongolian ger (portable, felt dwelling). As he secures his land, he and his family can live independently in the traditional, Mongolian ger. Also, a felt-made, Mongolian ger is the best in winter time, when confronting a strong wind and storm. Ariunbold is a very hard-working individual who moved to the center of the province in order to improve his family's living standard.
