A loan helped to buy a mini-bus to use to sell groceries.

Bakhruz's story

Bakhruz is 32 years old and lives in the Marneuli District with his parents, brother, wife and two children. He and his brother are artisans and his father works at a poultry farm. They all earn a monthly salary, but Bakhruz is requesting this loan from Kiva and Credo to start a new business on his own. Kiva and Credo run a loan program for start-ups that provides credit on favorable terms to poor people who live in rural areas and do not have access to traditional sources of credit. Bakhruz will use the loan to buy a mini-bus so that he can sell green grocery products. He will buy these groceries from local farmers at wholesale prices and sell them at retail prices in nearby towns. The new business will increase his family's monthly income and allow them to improve their living conditions.
