María, 61, lives in the city of Pisco with her two children who she loves. Sadly, María lost her beloved husband and since then she’s been her family’s pillar; she focuses all her efforts into moving them forward. Sadly, due to the lack of economic resources and the need to go to work, María was unable to study a professional career but would very much have liked to study dress making. She likes to listen to music in her free time and on occasion cooks a delicious ‘Arroz con Pollo’ [Chicken with Rice] to share with her family.
On her own initiative and with much effort and dedication, María works in her small business selling and renting dresses and suits. She works every day starting very early in the morning and can work up to 10 hours approximately. María feels comfortable doing her work and believes that she does well because of the kind treatment and good prices she provides her customers.
María is very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to the support provided she will be able to buy a larger amount of dresses and suits to stock her business so she can continue to work and strive to get ahead to reach her great dream of having her own sales stand in one of the city’s shopping centers.
