A loan helped to buy merchandise to stock her store.

Sara Sylvia's story

Sara, 59, is married and has five children; she lives in the municipality of Omoa, Cortes, with her husband. She’s a very enterprising woman who is always looking for ways to help her home and support her family. She used to work hand washing clothes in homes and then started to make little corn cakes filled with meat to sell. Three years ago she started a small grocery store where she sells vegetables, fruit, snacks, soft-drinks, candy, basic grains, bags of water, bread, condiments and others.

Sara has decided to ask ODEF for a 4,500 Lempira loan to buy more products like soft-drinks, bread, snacks, vegetables and basic grains. This loan will help her keep her business active to increase sales. Sara wants to continue working hard in order to save up for her old-age.
