Dubis is 49 years old, works making clothing and handbags, and also engages in general sales. She has her own workshop and sales location in her home.
In her 27 years of experience, Dubis has worked with her mother, who got her started in the dressmaking business from a young age, until she herself managed to buy her machines little by little. She began working on custom clothing and building the clientele she now has, which grows each day.
This is the reason why her working capital is proving insufficient to respond to market demand. In her workshop she does design work, cutting out, preparation, assembly and finishing of pieces, and also sells them at her shop.
Recently at her shop, she has added miscellaneous articles for the home, stationery, etc. She sells and makes her purchases, mainly on a cash basis. She buys from specialized stores in the city of Barranquilla.
Currently she is applying for credikiva loan, her third from the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. By means of the loan, she will buy fabric and dressmaking supplies, as well as Christmas articles, taking advantage of the fact that Christmas is approaching. Her business must be well supplied so that she can fully meet her goal of expanding, and eventually see her children become successful professionals, just as she dreams.
