40-year-old Silvia lives with her partner Rubén. The couple have two children who are 22 and 9 years old. They live in their own home which is located in an indigenous community in the central jungle. Silvia is a woman who works hard to realize her dreams. She started farming when she was 18 years old. She and her husband have learned how to work the land and produce crops. The crops they grow are coffee, ginger, citrus fruits and beans. "I like to grow everything so that I have income year round", she says.
Silvia's sales center is located 20 minutes from her community and so she doesn't experience any problems in getting there. She says that fertilizers are the most expensive part of her business, as well as paying workers to take care of and harvest her crops. However, in spite of all this Silvia remains committed to her business. She is currently planning to plant more coffee and already has a nursery ready for this. She needs sacks of organic fertilizer for this work and is requesting your support.
This is Silvia's sixth loan from MFP and she pledges to make her monthly repayments on time. She belongs to 'Los Clavelitos de Shankivironi' community bank whose members are all supportive and punctual. She will use her loan money to buy sacks of organic fertilizer mainly for her coffee and ginger crops.
