A loan helped to buy 15 bags of compost.

Laura's story

Laura is 42 years old and is married to David, with whom he has five children aged between 20 and one year old. Laura and her family live under their own roof in a native community of the central jungle. Laura is laborious. The activities of Laura are varied, she takes care of her home and family so they can also begin their daily activities.

When she finishes her chores, she takes care of her land. Currently, she has three lots of fertile land, where she grows achiote, coconut, coffee and citrus fruits such as tangelos and oranges. In these days, the price of her products is low. For this reason, she tries hard in growing other plants she recently planted. Thanks to her effort she can ensure food, clothing and education for her children.

Her short term goals are to expand her croplands and to improve her production. To do that, she needs to invest in the purchase of land and fertilizers. She now hopes to buy fertilizer for her crops of achiote, coffee and citrus plants, which she expects to harvest next year.

This is her loan number four from MFP. She promises to be punctual in paying her monthly installments, like before. Her communal bank is called "Los productores Inchatingari" and she is happy to be part of a solid and hard-working group. With the 1000 soles she will be able to buy 15 bags of compost such as poultry manure for her crops.
