Vy is age 25 and married with two dependent children, who are still under school-age. Her family lives in a rural area of Ponhea Krek District of Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. To make a living, Vy has been planting cassava and selling grocery items for seven years, and her husband also contributes income by working for others for a fee in the local area. The current businesses earn her approximately 28,000 KHR per day, and she manages to save about 15,000 KHR each day after offsetting daily expenses.
Vy has been a member of VisionFund for one loan cycle and fully repaid the loan. She has wisely and successfully used her previous loan to better support her family. Now she is leading her group of four to ask for a loan. She is going to use her portion to pay for labor expenses in her farming business. She hopes this loan will enable her to increase her crop yield so as to make a better living and fulfill her dream of having a decent house to live in.
