Maa Kali Self Help Group consists of 16 women from a village in Odisha. They formed a group to help themselves to share their problem and to solve their problem among them.
One of them is Surapriya, who was selected as the President of Maa Kali Self Help Group. The lady holding a notebook in the photo is Surapriya. Surapriya is 45 years old and is staying with her husband and her 16-year-old son. Her son is pursuing his intermediate in Science. She hopes to see him as an officer in a company. She has three acres of land in her village and she is using her land to grow sugarcane. Her husband is supporting her in this activity.
She has requested a loan of 320,000 INR, which will help her to purchase the required resources for sugarcane cultivation. She says a portion of the loan will help her to purchase sugarcane plants, fertilizers, and insecticides, and to cover operational expenses like labor charges.
