A loan helped to buy maize, pepper, tomatoes, cassava dough, and firewood to make her food production easier.

Aba Efua's story

For the past 12 years, Aba Efua has been cooking banku (fermented maize and cassava dough). She serves it with hot pepper sauce and fried fish at Ayinase near Elmina.

She is a widow taking care of four children who are currently in school. With her income, she pays for their school fees and takes care of the house.

She hopes to expand her banku business and so needs a loan to enable her to buy maize, pepper, tomatoes, cassava dough, and firewood to make her food production easier.

Her future plan is to build a better place to host her customers.
