A loan helped to pay for constructing a warehouse to store his finished statues and idols, and to buy raw materials for making statues.


Manas's story

Manas is a 24-year-old physically challenged person living with this parents, his wife, and a one-year-old daughter in a small village of Odisha, India. He is a sculptor and has been involved in this rock sculpting work for the past five years. He makes idols of gods, goddesses, statues of animals and other dancing postures of nymphs. He learned this work in his school days when he became interested in it, and it has now become a source of income for his family. He earns 8,000 Indian Rupees (INR) from his carving work.

He sells these statues to the retailers in the capital city of Odisha, i.e. Bhubaneswar. He has a plan to make a warehouse for keeping his statues so that he can protect them from weather. He has requested a loan of 30,000 INR to make a warehouse to store his finished statues and idols. With the remaining amount he plans to purchase more raw materials for making statues, and tools for carving them. He has a dream to give a good living standard to his family and save some money for his daughter's bright future.
