A loan helped a member to buy more fruit and vegetables and more bricks.

Nazareth Group's story

Christina, who is in her early 50s, is married with four children. Two of them go to school and two are grown-ups. She has three grand-children who are still going to school. She has been running a fruit and vegetable business where she also sells daga and salt. She works from 4.00am to 8.00 pm daily and is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be her seventh loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to restock the missing items in her stock of fruit and vegetables, bought a plot of land, bought some bricks, paid school fees and helped with household expenses. She has paid all her loans back successfully.

She wants a loan to buy more fruit and vegetables and to buy more bricks. Her dream is to one day to be able to start building her own house, now that she has bought enough bricks.

Christina will share this loan with her loan group "Nazareth". It has 17 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.

In this group: Christina, Janet, Hellena, Lucy, Mwashamba, Sikujua, Selestina, Zena, Hadija, Michael, Adam, Rehema, Asia, Catherin, Johane, Tasiana, Halima
