A loan helped a member to buy fertilizers for her farmland.

Vy's Group's story

Vy, 32 years old, is a rural villager from the Sampov Meas district of Pursat province, Cambodia. She is a married mother of three daughters, all still dependent and in school. To earn a living, Vy has been involved in rice farming for twenty years. She has supplemented her income by raising pigs for four years and selling grocery items for one year. Vy also sometimes works for others for pay. She is able to earn approximately 22,500 KHR per day from her current businesses.

Vy’s group consists of two female members. She has been with VisionFund for three cycles and has completely repaid her past loans, while the other member has been with VisionFund for two cycles. Vy's previous loans have enabled her to afford to buy basic household necessities for her family. She is now leading this group to apply for a loan of KHR 1,000,000 each. Vy will use her portion of this loan to buy fertilizers for her farmland and to buy more grocery items for selling. She hopes that her crop business will become profitable so as to earn more income to support her family’s living conditions.
