A loan helped to build a stable for their animals.

Petrit's story

Petrit is a thirty-eight-year-old Romani man from one of the vulnerable ethnic minority communities of Albania. He had immigrated to Greece but has come back recently, taking on the business that his wife had previously started. Petrit is a hard worker and he has five children with the oldest being thirteen and the youngest one year old. Four of them attend school and his wife doesn’t work in the business anymore, because she is only raising the children now. Before, she had to take care of everything, the business and the children, she explains, smiling.

The business they currently have is livestock and they have been selling milk to local dairy farms for the past seven years. “In the beginning it was very difficult,” his wife said. However, as years went by and she created a steady clientele, there was a turnaround for the better and she is happy now.

Petrit is requesting a Kiva loan through VisionFund Albania to build a stable for their animals and he is very grateful for this opportunity he has been granted. Also, he and his wife wanted to thank all of the lenders at KIVA for their kindness and generous support.
