A loan helped to water agricultural land and purchase agricultural products for selling.

Nana's story

Nana is 33 years old. She is married and lives in the Vale district with her family: husband, Zaza; three children (5, 11 and 12 years old) and mother-in-law, who is a pensioner. The older children go to the local [school]. Nana and her husband run an agricultural business. In particular, they have three milk cows and a calf. They produce dairy food: cheese, curds and yogurt, and sell them at the local open market. The family owns 0.75 hectares of land as well, where they grow potatos and cabbage. Nana and Zaza work hard during the spring and summer seasons to get a good harvest. Along with their agricultural business, they are also busy with trading. Seasonally, they sell vegetables and fruits using their own Ford Transit car in nearby villages. The total average monthly income of the family is 1000 lari.

Nana requested a loan for cultivation of the agricultural land and to purchase additional agricultural products to sell. After properly doing the seasonal work, she hopes to get a good harvest. Nana and Zaza will sell their harvested products together with other agricultural products in the nearby villages. They hope to get their planned income. With increased income, they will be able to spend more on the family’s daily needs. As a result, the family’s living conditions will improve.
