Gumercinda is 29 years old. She lives in her own home located in a native community with the father of her children whom are 8 and 7 years old. She has five parcels of land in which she produces coffee, plantains, yucca, and corn.
Her primary crop is coffee, which she sells to the cafes in the city. The harvest is a process. First, she must select the most red grains and then remove the pulp and save the seeds. Then, she dries the grains so she can sell them. In regards to the plantain, yucca, and corn, the process is less labor intensive but just as important.
When there is no work to be done on the crops she also works as a laborer. Her husband does his part in always helping her with the arduous labor. Now, she is thinking of planting more coffee and will purchase more seedlings.
This is her firth credit with MFP which is why she feels grateful for the support. She belongs to the communal bank "Shatzoshis", a strong and unified group. She will invest this loan in the purchase of fertilizer for her new coffee crops.
