Bokoli Plus is a Community Bank made up of 13 members whose chairwoman is Nono. These members are united for the same goal: to grow their businesses with loans received from Kiva through MFI HOPE RDC.
Nono’s main activity is selling sacks of sugar and milk. She began her business in 1995. After hard work and good management, she succeeded in making it thrive thanks to the accumulated profits and different loans she received from HOPE DRC. Nono is a trustworthy client of the MFI HOPE RDC, having eight times obtained and correctly repaid loans. She will increase her stock of merchandise with her next loan by buying some sacks of sugar and milk and reselling them at profit.
Nono's business brings in US$170 in profit each week. Her dream is to someday open a big sugar and milk facility in her area. Nono is 38 years old, married and the mother of 6 children, whose ages vary between 1 and 20 years old. Four of them attend school.
