Sarepta Plus Group's story

Isabelle, aged 47, is the leader of the Community Bank named “Sarepta Plus”, which is composed of 18 members, united in solidarity to receive loans from the MFI (micro-finance institution) HOPE RDC in order to develop their businesses.

Isabelle started her business in 2006 doing the same activity. She operates a drugstore in the eastern part of Kinshasa. She is a loyal client of the MFI HOPE RDC who has already received seven different loans and has repaid them properly. She intends to use the next loan to buy more medicine needed by her customers in her area to resell with the aim of increasing her profits. Each week, her business brings in a profit of about $50.

Her ambition is to expand her business by opening other drugstores in different places. Isabelle is married and has two children, aged 13 and 19 years old. Both go to school.
