A loan helped a member to buy building materials like cements, sand, rods, etc. for the construction of a family dwelling house.

Emmanuel's Group's story

These are teachers of a primary school based in Kenema city. This school was founded in 1998. Teachers of the school have come to SMT, a partner of Kiva.org in Makeni, Northern Sierra Leone, to seek a loan. This is the first loan that teachers of the school have benefited from SMT/Kiva lenders. They requested a loan of 16,800,000.00 SLL for the entire group.

With the help of this loan, these teachers are in a better position to buy or invest in something that their mere salaries cannot let them do. Emmanuel is the leader of the group. He is forty-five years of age. He was born in Songo Town. He is single and has one child attending secondary school. Emmanuel has been in the teaching profession for nineteen years now. He has requested this loan in order to buy building materials like cement, sand, rods, etc. for the construction of a family dwelling house.

In this group: Emmanuel, John A.k, Anthony Momoh, Mary , Mangie , Lucinda, Braima , Julian A. , Rosetta , Peter , Briama, Ruth Abie, Charles D.h
