A loan helped to buy pagne, colorful African fabric.

Rosalie's story

Rosalie, age 48, is married and has six children. She has four children still attending school. She also cares for four other family members who are not able to support themselves.

She sells pagne, colorful African fabric, in her shop in a local market. Pagne is mainly used to make clothing, but can also be used for tablecloths, napkins, and curtains.

Rosalie will use the loan to buy more pagne for her shop. She has operated this business since 1982! She is very experienced in buying and selling pagne, and she has acquired many loyal customers throughout the years. Her strategy is to buy good quality pagne to stock her shop.

Rosalie has received three previous loans from Kiva's partner HOPE Congo. She has a very good repayment record. She hopes to one day be able to send her children to study abroad. She wishes for her children to be successful and happy.
