Akuegnon Group's story

AKUEGNON is a group composed of six persons who are friends. The group's representative, Salimatou Alakè (whose hand is raised in the photo), is 42 years old and married to a shipping agent by the name of Claude. They have one child who is in school and in their care. Salimatou Alakè lives together with her child and husband and jointly ensures with her husband that the household expenses are covered.

Salimatou Alakè halted her studies in secondary school. To cope with her different expenses, she has a business selling frozen foods, liquor, canned soft drinks, and cloth secondarily. She has been in this business for three years. She gets her supplies from a city in Benin.

With the goal of responding better to the requirements of her burgeoning customer base and making more profit, Salimatou Alakè is requesting, along with the other members of the group AKUEGNON, an initial loan from ALIDé.
