Julia Evangelina's story

Julia is a member of El Cisne Communal Bank. She lives in the parish of El Valle, known also as San Bautista de El Valle, located to the southeast of Cuenca. This parish is famous for its agricultural production. The people also work raising animals and in business, and many work in the city of Cuenca. El Valle has attractions such as the lakes of Cochapamba (full of totora reeds) and various other places to visit.

Julia, 43, is married and has two children, ages 17 and 15, from her marriage. Her first child works and helps her financially and her second child is studying in a high school in the city. Her husband works in agriculture. She does not have her own house so she rents, but her own house is already under construction.

Julia works taking care of her mother's livestock from Sunday through Sunday. She has been doing this work for a year. At home she raises pigs, chickens, and guinea pigs.

She is in her second cycle in the communal bank, and she is going to invest it in buying pigs, chickens, and guinea pigs.

Her goal is to finish building her house.
