A loan helped to buy bundles of used clothing.

Darkin Joel's story

Darkin Joel, 27, is a young, single man living in the El Triángulo neighborhood in the municipality of San Francisco de la Paz; he sells second-hand clothes. He started selling used clothes in 2005 and did it in an ambulatory fashion throughout the streets in his community and in the nearest villages and hamlets. But thanks to the good way he’s managed his income from the business he was able to obtain financing and build a small room in his house so that now he has his own locale. His hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 8am until 5pm. The advantage of his business is that it earns good profits but he also has a lot of competition and his sales have decreased recently.

The loan that Darkin is asking for will be used to buy several bundles of used clothes to stock his store with assorted styles, especially for the summer season. His goal is to make his business grow turning it into a store to continue helping to support his mother since she’s of an advanced age but still works baking bread to sell in an ambulatory way.

Darkin has more than five cycles with FAMA and has used previous loans to stay economically active. His repayment behavior has been punctual.
