A loan helped to buy flour, beans, rice, sugar, lard, eggs, and other products.

Maria Juana's story

Doña Maria Juana is 54 years old and a single mother of four children (ages 35, 30, 25, and 23). All of them are independent and live apart from her. She lives with two of her grandchildren in the neighborhood of Guaymitas del Progreso, Yoro. Doña Maria generates income by managing a grocery business that she started three years ago. She is grateful for the profits she has gained from having her own business. Maria started out selling fried dough and ice cream, but over time she gradually stocked more inventory. Through hard work and effort, she now offers food products such as flour, sugar, lard, beans, rice, vegetables, grocery products, and all types of candy. She is very pleased with her business and has done very well because she has daily demand for food products. Maria Juana serves her customers every day.

She is requesting her second loan in the amount of 14,000 HNL so that she can restock with more food products, thus allowing her to provide better service that is in demand. Her goal is to expand her inventory so that she can improve her quality of life.
