A loan helped to buy more bags of charcoal.

Florence's story

Florence lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married and has four children, all of whom are in school. She doesn't take care of additional family members.

Florence has a business of selling charcoal. She has been in this business for over 10 years, and she works seven days out of every week. Florence sells her products at the market, by means of retail. She has requested a loan of 1,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from MCDT SACCO, which she will use to buy more bags of charcoal.

She also generates additional income through selling piped water. The main business challenges for Florence include seasonality and thieves. Her goals and aspirations for her business are to start selling at wholesale only and to build rental rooms. Florence lives in a home that she owns; she has access to electricity and has access to piped water. Her major monthly expenses include food and school fees.
