A loan helped to restock her business with food products and school supplies.

Agueda Marina's story

Sra. Agueda Marina is 57 years old. She and her partner have been together for 32 years. They have three daughters (ages 22, 25, and 29) and live in Santa Cruz de Yojoa, Cortes.

Doña Agueda was motivated to provide her daughters with an education. Six years ago, she decided to establish a store through her own efforts so that she could sell basic household products (such as basic grains, sugar, lard, dairy products, corn, sausages, fried dough, knickknacks, soft drinks, meats, and other items). Her business stays open every day so that she can provide good service to her customers.

Agueda is requesting her second loan from ODEF in the amount of 20,000 HNL. Part of the loan will be invested in school supplies such as notebooks and pencils, and the other part will be invested in food products so that she can remain well-stocked. Her previous loan was a great help in increasing her inventory and improving her income. Her goal is to continue working so that she can have a better standard of living.
