María lives in El Eden community, in the town of Ticuantepe, together with her family. Her future plans for her family are to improve their living conditions because piped drinking water does not reach their humble plot of land which means she has to pull a cart every day to fetch water from a nearby well. The biggest difficulty she has faced during the growth cycle of her pineapples was when one of her harvests did not complete and the fruit turned out very small and flavorless. She is grateful for the support she receives from Kiva which enables her to continue providing her pineapple crop with suitable maintenance. She hopes that this year will be better for her crops and for her family as this is the main financial source of income with which they support themselves. María will use the loan she has been given to buy fertilizers and agricultural supplies.
