A loan helped to refresh the store and buy massage equipment.

Kazhal's story

Kazhal is a 26-year-old, single woman living in Iraq. She has been working hard since a very young age and has gained a lot of experience in how to run a beauty salon well, and how to provide customers with great service, meeting their needs every day.

The little salon has been in business for 11 years, and Kazhal would like to refresh the store with some new furniture and also buy new massage equipment to provide a new service to her clients.

Kazhal took a loan of $2,400 from Relief International - Iraq to be able to renew her business.

Kazhal is under 30 and qualifies for a "youth loan."

Based on the political and social challenges of lending in Iraq, personally identifiable information about this borrower has been altered for her protection. RI-Iraq appreciates Kiva lenders' consideration of these challenges and encourages lenders to continue their support for Iraqi borrowers.
