Union De Mujeres En Desarrollo 1, 2 & 3 Group's story

Emiliana is the coordinator of her group Union De Mujeres En Desarrollo 1, 2 & 3, which is composed of 15 women entrepreneurs located in the city of San Pedro de Macoris. Their community is a rural area surrounded by fields of sugarcane. Emiliana has operated a business selling clothes and shoes for five years. She will use her loan to purchase clothing and some shoes for women and men.

Emiliana and her long-term partner live together with their one child. Emiliana's most important challenges are to work hard to gain extra income and to better her home structure. She is receiving her fourth loan from Esperanza Internacional and, because her loan repayments have all been made punctually, she has been able to grow her business with the reinvestment she makes from each loan. Emiliana would like to save her profits to start building her house

The three pictures taken in their community complete the group of 15 members.

In this group: Emiliana, Andrea, Sanicia, Nacilia, Leonie, Maria, Isiona, Julia, Carmela, Sonise, Yudelka, Memena, Jocelyne, Sara, Denise
