Mujeres Valientes Group's story

Manesa is a member of the “Mujeres Valientes” (Brave Women) 1 & 2 group. She is the mother of three children, who live with Manesa and her long-term partner in one of the slum neighborhoods located in the north of Santo Domingo. Manesa tells us that her most difficult challenge has been to devote herself as a mother to give her children a better future.

Manesa is very excited to receive her fifth loan with Esperanza Internacional. She has had her business for around eleven years, after having arrived in the Dominican Republic and seen the need to start working. She used a little bit of capital for food sales. Manesa is planning to invest her new loan to purchase foods such as rice, beans, sugar, vegetables, cooking oil, and meats. She will use her earnings to continue investing in her business in order to improve her sales and to save to finish building her house.

Manesa will achieve her dream of being able to finish building her house. She also wishes to have good health and a life that is more economically stable. She started her association with Esperanza because the payments are much more flexible and the interest is lower.

In this group: Manesa, Marianie, Mimose, Albania, Maria, Ramona, Marie, Maria, Teresa, Molene
