Eugenio, 62, is a widower. He has 3 children: Yolina, 19; Lit, 17; and Sumit, 5. They all live in a house he owns in his hometown of Pucharini in Chanchamayo province. Eugenio is an outstanding father. His wife died when Sumit was only eight months old. Since that time, he has been both father and mother to his 3 daughters. He has managed to care for them and not neglect his activities.
He is a farmer who specializes in the cultivation of plantains. In his 3 plots of land, he cultivates four varieties of plantains which he sells in the city of Yurinaki. In order to sell them, he has to transport his products by vehicle. He also plants half a plot of coffee, but these beans are sold in his own community where buyers from different companies pay a fair price for their production.
“My coffee is requested because I don’t use any type of fertilizers,” he mentions proudly. Eugenio is thinking of growing more coffee and plantains in a plot that doesn’t produce any more. This plan requires hard work. This will be the first time that Eugenio has obtained a loan from MFP. He takes responsibility for being punctual in his repayments. He feels pleased to belong to the “Los Caciques de Menkoremón” communal bank. When he obtains the money, he will be able to purchase plantain offshoots in order to start a plantation. Also, he will obtain coffee plans.
