A loan helped to purchase silk materials and pay tuition.

Zongty's story

Mrs. Zongty E. and her husband, Kong Saron, have been married since 1986. They have two daughters. One of their daughters is studying at the university in Phnom Penh and the other is attending a local school. The family lives on an island in the Mekong River, about fifteen kilometers from Phnom Penh.

Mrs. E. started her silk weaving business in 1980. It’s a skill she learned from her mother (she is pictured with her mother). Her husband is a silk weaver as well. Both of thE. work hard to support their daughters and promote their education.

Mrs. E. is requesting a loan in the amount of $1000. She will use this money to purchase silk materials for weaving and to pay tuition for her daughter who is attending the university.
