Gioconda del Carmen is a hard-working, enterprising 42 year-old woman who has five children. Only the youngest, at 12 years of age, is in her care. She has run a food stall for the past six years. This business started with soups (of beef, bone, tripe, chicken, cheese, etc.) on the weekends, and then she learned how to make traditional Nicaraguan dishes like vahó and vigoron (yuca, fried pork and cabbage salad). With her earnings and loans she began opening her food and fried snack stall at night.
With the previous credit she invested in products for her business and with the earnings she was able to tile and improve her stall. This credit will be used on products for the business since she has orders for several Christmas parties.
