A loan helped a member to pay for items such as rice, sugar, oil and eggs to restock her general store.

Harapan 2 Group's story

Yusriati (wearing the red patterned scarf) is pictured above with her fellow group members. She has been running a general store since 2009 from her house. Business has been going smoothly and the income has allowed her to help make a better life for her family. She is 51 years old and her four children are already grown up, with a couple already having married.

She is now taking her first loan with VisionFund Indonesia to help restock her store by buying things such as rice, sugar, oil and eggs. In the future she would like to run the general store from an actual shop rather than from inside her home. She hopes that she can eventually earn enough income and have savings to renovate her home.

Other group members will use their loans to help their businesses which include selling fish and selling snacks.
