A loan helped to buy feed, vitamins and vaccines for his hog-raising business.

Venancio's story

Venancio is 62, married and has seven adult children. He is a farmer who raised his family in a village. For almost 44 years, he has owned and managed a rice-farming and hog-raising business; he earns an income of approximately PHP 12,000 per month. Most of his income goes toward their daily consumption and the allowances of his grandchildren. Despite the hardships of life, he has aimed to improve his business because he wants to give his children a better life. Through his patience and hard work, most of his children have finished their studies and they are now professionals. Despite this, he wants to continue managing the business because he wants to earn and save for their future.

He is asking for a loan of PHP 40,000 to buy feed, vitamins and vaccines for his hog-raising business. He mentioned that the loan will help him to make an improvement in his piggery and increase the number of his pigs. He believes that "if there is patience, there is progress." This is his principle in life.
