A loan helped to purchase dairy goats.

Irene's story

Irene (pictured above with a dairy cow) is 35 years old and married with two children who are 11 and 9 years old and schooling. She has been in farming for 10 solid years and currently produces milk, potatoes, wheat, maize and beans for the local market.

Irene has requested a loan of 40,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to purchase dairy goats. She says there is a ready market for the goat’s milk due to its high nutritional content. She adds that the income will help her educate the two children as well as improve her family's living standards.

Irene appreciates Juhudi Kilimo services but points out unreliable rainfalls and the high cost of pesticides as the challenges.
