Dorcas's story

Dorcas is a married woman. She has six children, four of which currently attend school. Her husband works as a driver. Dorcas operates a poultry business and sells her goods from home. She's worked in this business for three years and was previously employed as a shop worker. Her primary customers are butchers and restaurants. She rents a house that has electricity but no piped water. She describes her greatest business challenge to be transportation. Her largest monthly expense is food.

Dorcas will use the loan of 100,000 Kenyan shillings (KES) to rebuild her chicken coop and buy more chicken feed. Dorcas aspires to have several bigger chicken coops in the future. She joined Yehu to access working capital.
