José is 65 years old living with his spouse and three children. He works with and cares for cattle; he’s been in business for 15 years. His father taught him because he’d always say that one must work hard and struggle much if one is to have anything. He rises at 4:30am to milk his cows and then heads out to care for them. He also grows corn and works with his family making corn tamales. His daughters process the cow milk into curds that’s then sold in the community.
To buy the products he needs to carry out his activities, José must walk for ten minutes to catch a bus that takes another ten minutes to reach the place where he buys his supplies. José is requesting the loan to buy two dairy cows because his family processes the milk and sells the curd in the community where they live. He will also buy feed for his cows.
The purchase of two more cows will increase milk production and they’ll have enough curd to satisfy demand which will lead to higher profits to meet household needs. He dreams with moving his family forward to leave each of his daughters a lot so that they can build their houses and to continue teaching them how to work so that their families will have better living conditions.
