A loan helped to buy a pair of cows to feed for doing farming.

Socheata's story

Socheata, 38 years old, is making brooms to sell. Her husband is a carpenter; their income is $6 per day. She has four children, who are 20, 13, 11, and 8 years old. Three of them are studying and one is working in the factory with $3 per day in income.

Every month, she has to spend $45 on food, $5 on electricity, $10 on rental-house fees, $10 on school fees, $5 on transportation and $10 on other expenses. She would like to request a loan of $1,000 to buy a pair of cows to feed for doing farming in the rainy season. She expects to send her children to study and at least finish high school.
