A loan helped to purchase cartons of maggi, bags of rice, crates of eggs, containers of oil, and cartons of paste to stock in her store.

Mariatu J.l.'s story

Mariatu, age 41, sells grocery items such as bagged rice, milk, butter, beverages, five-gallon containers of oil, batteries, cosmetics, and soaps. She established her business in 2003. She had left school and got married, and her husband urged her to start a business to help provide a livelihood for their family. Working six days a week and 10 hours a day, she earns about Le 1,300,000 every month.

Mariatu is requesting a loan in the amount of Le 5,000,000. She has already received and successfully repaid three loans, and now requires a new loan in order to purchase cartons of maggi, bags of rice, crates of eggs, containers of oil, and cartons of paste. She is confident that this loan will enable her to increase her monthly profits by approximately Le 200,000.

In the future, Mariatu plans to increase business by opening another shop, hiring workers, traveling to Guinea where she will serve as a supplier, and adding basic pharmacy items to her inventory. She plans to gain a larger number of customers, particularly for rice.

Mariatu and her husband have two children, ages seven and 13. She has five additional dependents who live with her because they are relatives from both her own and her husband's sides of the family, and she and her husband support these dependents in their senior secondary schooling.

Mariatu is a hard-working and reliable entrepreneur. She thanks you for your support.
