Djiguisseme 3 Group's story

The ten members of the Djiguisseme 3 group are married women, on average 44 years old with 2 children. They live for the most part in polygamous households in Fissaba, one of the villages in the town of Massigui in the Dioïla Prefecture, Koulikoro region, which is the second administrative region in Mali.
They work with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso in order to better organize their businesses at the start of the rainy season. The crops they grow include, among others, rice and peanuts. They are on their fifth loan collaboration with the institution.
With this new loan, Kariatou Youssouf, sitting all the way on the left in the photo, intends to buy agricultural inputs and small equipment and pay for labour costs to manage about 0.7 hectares of rice and peanuts.
After the harvest, the produce is sold town-wide in Missagui to a clientele composed of men and women. Each member intends to realize an average profit of about 70,000 FCFA at the end of the season.

In this group: Kariatou Youssouf, Magnan, Anata, Diarra, Bafini, Gneba Drissa, Bafoune, Diarra, Koniba, Oumou Alou
